Prof. Hanna Schreiber, Chair Holder of the UNESCO Chair on Intangible Cultural Heritage in Public and Global Governance at the University of Warsaw, has become a member of the Advisory Board of REVIVE, a Horizon Europe research and innovation project devoted to endangered European languages and intangible heritage.
REVIVE is a €3 million, multi-partner project led by the StoryLab Research Institute at Anglia Ruskin University. It focuses on safeguarding Europe’s endangered intangible heritage and linguistic diversity, with particular attention to the Cornish language in the UK and Griko in Italy. The consortium explores how extended reality (XR), data visualisation, archival research and interactive digital storytelling can strengthen engagement with these languages and foster social inclusion in marginalised communities.
As a scholar of international law and cultural heritage, Prof. Schreiber has extensive experience in the governance of intangible cultural heritage, including research on international heritage regimes and participatory, community-centred approaches. Her role on the REVIVE Advisory Board will draw on this expertise to support the project’s work at the intersection of heritage, rights and digital innovation.
Prof. Schreiber’s involvement in REVIVE aligns closely with the mission of the UNESCO Chair on Intangible Cultural Heritage in Public and Global Governance, which seeks effective, ethical and sustainable governance models for intangible heritage in today’s complex multilevel system. It also strengthens the Chair’s engagement in European research networks dedicated to cultural heritage, democracy and inclusive societies.
